Our lives are but a short journey, during which we may learn about ourselves and the world in which we find ourselves. This anyway, is the model of the poet Constantine Cavafy in his poem, Ithaka. The voyage to Ithaka is a unique experience for each of us, and in my view it is better to arrive at life’s destination with some splendid memories to revisit, than curse impotently against the inevitable.
